Railroad Crossing Maintenance Work on US-281, South of St. Paul
KRGI News has now learned that the plan for the 281 railroad crossing south of St Paul is to be worked on for a tentative start date of July 25th. The project's original date was set for July 11th but then moved to July 18th and now to July 25th to avoid the Howard County Fair that runs July 16th through the 20th in St Paul.
July 5, 2022 (Grand Island, Neb.) — US-281 will be closed at the railroad crossing located south of St. Paul, between N-58 and N-92. Northbound and southbound US-281 traffic will be detoured between the junction of US-281/N-58 and the north junction of US-281/N-92.
The detour will follow the route of N-58 to N-11 to N-92 to, in both directions. For questions regarding this project or the detour, please contact the Nebraska Central Railroad Company. Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and put their phones down.
