NSP & LPD Officer Involved Shooting At A Lincoln Caseys

Lincoln Police Department

(Lincoln, NE) - At 8:26 pm on Tuesday, April 2nd the Lincoln Police Department was on the scene of an active incident with shots fired at the Casey’s gas station at 2500 NW 12th Street. Officers arrived after the 911 call was made and described to dispatch "a male had entered the store and put a gun on the counter". There were three employees at the store with no customers. One of the three employees was able to make the 911 call. Once officers arrived on the scene and made initial contact with the suspect, he then fired a round from the gun from inside the store. Officers then returned fire. During the exchange, one employee was able to remove themselves from the store, and the other two employees barricaded themselves in a back room. After a prolonged period of time, the suspect then fired additional rounds. According to Lincoln Police Chief Michon Marrow, the 45-year-old suspect was injured as he was shot in the upper chest area. Once taken into custody by the Lincoln SWAT team, the suspect was transported to a Lincoln hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.

Assistance on the scene also came from deputies from the Lancaster County Sheriff's office and an investigator from the Nebraska State Patrol who was working a plain clothes assignment also responded to the 911 call along with other units.

A joint investigation continues. Authorities this morning (Wednesday) released the name of the suspect as Michael Glaser. He was arrested for two counts of false imprisonment, use of a firearm to commit a felony, and two counts of second-degree assault on an officer.
