Northwest Girls Soccer Takes On Bennington Wednesday

(Omaha, NE) - The Northwest girl's soccer team is headed to the state tournament for just the second time in school history as the Vikings get set for a Wednesday night affair in Omaha. The first trip occurred for the Vikings in 2022. Last year the Vikings fell one match short of reaching the eight-team state tournament field falling to Omaha Gross Catholic in the district final round. Northwest will take their 14-3 record to Omaha and take on the 13-4 Bennington Badgers.  The three losses for Northwest in the regular season come to 15-2 Norris (6-2), 13-5 Elkhorn (3-0), and falling to 13-3 Scotus (3-0) who are all three in the state tournament field. The Badger's four losses are to Norris 2-0, Columbus 2-0, Norris again in the Eastern Midlands Tournament 2-1 in overtime, and falling to Skutt Catholic 2-1 in overtime. Bennington is coming into the state tournament with a five-match winning streak. Northwest is currently on an eight-match winning streak.
