GICC Girls Down Aurora. Next Up Adams Central

(Grand Island, NE) - The first game of the C1-9 Sub District basketball tournament on Tuesday night at Crusader Gym would be an all-out knock-down drag-out kind of contest with the Crusaders prevailing 37-23. Especially in the first half as the two teams traded buckets for Aurora to have a one-point advantage of 21-20. The second half would be the big difference in play as GICC would outscore Aurora in the 3rd quarter 10-0 and in the fourth quarter 7-2. 

With the loss, Aurora's season comes to an end at 9-14. GICC is now 21-2 on the year and will next play Adams Central on Thursday night for the C1-9 Sub District tournament championship. The Patriots defeated Central City on Tuesday night in the second semi-final 48-31. The meeting between the Crusaders and the Patriots will be the second of the season. GICC defeated Adams Central in Grand Island on Saturday, January 29th 50-39. Thursday (Feb. 15th) tip-off is set for 6:00 pm.
