C2-10 Boys Sub District: GICC Wins Semi-Final Over Arcadia/Loup City

(Grand Island, NE) - The Central Catholic boys basketball team would win their 7th game in a row on Tuesday night in the Class C2 Sub District 10 semi-final matchup at Crusader Gym defeating Arcadia/Loup City 62-30. The Crusaders jump all over the Rebels in the first quarter to lead 19-4. Arcadia/Loup City would then score 12 points in the 2nd quarter to GICC's 18 for the Crusaders to lead 37-16 at the half. GICC would then continue the point parade in the third outscoring the Rebels 14-8 and 11-6 in the fourth. GICC would have four players score in double digits led by Connor Haney with 13 points. Arcadia/Loup City sees its season come to an end with a record of 6-16. GICC is now 12-10 on the season and will advance to the sub-district final on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. vs. St Cecilia. The matchup on Thursday will be the 2nd meeting of the season vs the Bluehawks and Crusaders. GICC defeated St Cecilia in Grand Island on Feb. 8th 54-27.
