C1-9 Sub District Tournament Championship Tonight

(Grand Island, NE) - Tonight the GICC girls basketball team will look for the automatic birth into a district final game next week as the Crusaders host the Adams Central Patriots. GICC on Tuesday night defeated Aurora 37-23 to end the Huskies season, meanwhile Adams Central eliminated Central City in the second semi-final of the C1-9 sub-district tournament 48-31. The Crusaders come in with a record of 21-2. The Patriots enter tonight's game at 19-4.

The winner of tonight's game will advance to a district final and be one win away from the state tournament. Coming into tonight's game GICC is 3rd in Class C1 power-points and Adams Central is 7th. If the Crusaders were to lose they would be in an excellent position to receive a wildcard to a district final. If Adams Central were to lose, the more teams that win above them the better for their chances to get one of four wildcards.

Listen to tonight's action on KRGI 1430 AM/105.5 FM & krgi.com. The Pump & Pantry Pregame Show will start at 5:45 pm. Before pregame coverage, KRGI will feature an interview with new GICC volleyball coaches Trey Salinas and Tina Dimmitt-Salinas.
