Arrest Warrant Issued for Alda man in Pivot Wire Theft
Hall County Sheriff’s deputies have been investigating several thefts of pivot wire between March 16 and June 29. On the evening of June 29, two men had been contacted during a traffic stop and the deputy observed a large amount of pivot wire in the vehicle. The following day a search warrant was obtained and pivot wire along with other evidence was recovered. After further investigation an arrest warrant has been issued for Charles Swisher Jr., 56, of Alda, for the following charges:
Five counts of theft by unlawful taking over $5,000.00 (Felony IIA)
Theft by unlawful taking over $1,500.00, less than $5,000.00 (Felony IV)
Theft by unlawful taking over $500.00, less than $1,500.00 (Misdemeanor I)
Tampering with physical evidence (Felony IV)
Five counts of criminal mischief more than $5,000.00 (Felony IV)
Criminal mischief between $1,500.00 and $5,000.00 (Misdemeanor I)
Criminal mischief between $500.00 and $1,500.00 (Misdemeanor II)
Seven counts of second-degree trespassing (Misdemeanor II)
Corey Robertson, 53, of Alda, has been referred to the Hall County Attorney’s office for the same charges.
